Stepping Stone opens new daytime drop-in space, expanding access to community supports
In March 2026, Stepping Stone officially opened its new daytime drop-in space at 23 Gordon Street, expanding access to essential services and community supports for people in Guelph-Wellington. The welcoming space provides a safe place for individuals to connect with staff, access housing and outreach supports, enjoy meals and refreshments, use showers and laundry facilities, and access basic necessities in a respectful, low-barrier environment.
Funded by the City of Guelph as a two-year pilot project, the daytime space was created in response to a growing need for safe indoor spaces and coordinated support services. In addition to meeting immediate needs, dedicated housing and outreach workers help connect people to health services, community resources, and pathways to stable housing. The initiative represents a collaborative effort between Stepping Stone, the City of Guelph, and community partners to strengthen the local response to homelessness and housing instability while fostering connection, dignity, and belonging for all who access the space.
